Terms of use

Last updated 5 July 2026

Motion Network is a community and library for motion designers. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Motion Network. We've kept this in plain language on purpose - it's meant to be read.

1. Who we are

Motion Network ("we", "us") runs this site and its services: member profiles, the members Feed, the Inspiration reference library, Jobs and Help. The service is early and evolving, so features may change, break, or disappear as we build.

2. Your account

  • You must give accurate information and keep your login details secure. You're responsible for activity under your account.
  • You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country (at least 16, or the age of digital consent where you live).
  • You can close your account at any time from Settings. We can suspend or remove accounts that break these terms.

3. Your work

You keep ownership of everything you post. Posting your work doesn't transfer copyright to us. To run the site, you grant Motion Network a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, resize and promote your work within the service and in reasonable marketing of the service - always credited to you. This licence ends when you delete the work or your account, except for copies already shared or cached that are outside our reasonable control.

By posting, you confirm the work is yours (or you have permission to post it) and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.

4. The Feed and curated Inspiration

The Feed mixes members' own uploads with a small number of curated Inspiration pieces we add by hand. Curated pieces are added one of two ways: as a file we've been given permission to host, or as a Framerate.tv embed, where Framerate hosts and serves the video and we simply frame their player - we don't copy the file. We credit the original creator and don't claim ownership of their work.

We do not scrape or re-host video from third-party platforms.

If it's your work and you'd rather it wasn't here, you can have it removed. Open the piece and use "Request takedown", or contact us (below). We'll review and remove verified requests.

5. Reporting and takedowns

If you believe something on Motion Network infringes your copyright or other rights, tell us with enough detail to find it (a link), a description of your rights, and your contact details. We operate a notice-and-takedown process and will act on valid reports promptly. We may remove content and, for repeat infringers, remove accounts.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Motion Network to post or do anything that:

  • infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
  • is unlawful, hateful, harassing, deceptive, or sexually exploitative;
  • contains malware, or attempts to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service;
  • spams other members or misrepresents who you are.

7. Availability

We provide the service "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will always be preserved - please keep your own copies of your work. We may change or discontinue features at any time.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Motion Network isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost work, or losses arising from content posted by members or third parties. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service grows. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where reasonable, let members know. Continuing to use Motion Network after changes means you accept them.
